Ambition: A Minuet in Power's score represents more than four years of work, the skills of over 30 incredibly talented individuals, and a thrilling flight of fancy back to the late 18th century.
Indulging in my love for period music, I embraced the styles and sounds that would have been heard in Paris on the eve of the Revolution, and the twists and turns of Ambition's story allowed me the opportunity to write for an array of unique, historical ensembles, each one serving a purpose to give voice to the feuding factions struggling over France's future. Finally, getting to collaborate with world-class musicians to bring it all to life was truly the pièce de résistance.
After countless late nights of work, I cannot tell you how happy and fortunate I feel to be able to share this work with you all now. I hope you enjoy playing it (and listening to it!) as much as I enjoyed creating it.
