"As adventurers set sail into Ashenfall, Peter Michael Davison and Ashton Mills built the sound of Dragonwilds from the ground up, crafting a musical identity that feels primal, untamed, and unmistakably RuneScape. Volume 1 brings together a wide selection of tracks from the game’s launch, capturing the full breadth of the team’s work.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds embraces something earthier than Old School RuneScape, whilst still honouring the spirit of the classic soundtrack. Its rough-edged folk music is tinged with influences from traditional music of the British Isles and Northern Europe, the team often eschewed mainstream instruments for their earlier and less refined iterations: swapping violin for nyckelharpa or stroviol, guitar for citole or dulcimer, cello for tagelharpa or viola de gamba. Rhythms flow organically, themes breathe and sprawl, and the whole thing feels alive, perfectly matching the game’s survival energy."
