"This album consists of music written for Asurya's Embers, a first-person, single-player, bow-and-arrow adventure game where you embark on a journey to save your home from the wrath of a vengeful god. The soundtrack is inspired by music from South Asia and the Himalayas and uses unique instruments such as the sarangi, bansuri, and madal, among many others. Live recordings of performances by both SMU students and talented soloists are also featured."
"The soundtrack for Asurya's Embers was composed and performed by student musicians at SMU's Meadows School of the Arts. Theodore Morris was the lead composer, with additional music compositions by Nha-Y Duong, Matthew Foss, and Anika Saiprabhu. The solo sarangi performance was by Deepak Paramashivan and the solo soprano performance was by Jasmine Williams. The remaining instrumental performers were Duncan McVety (Violin), Brandon Morrison (Violin), Matt Velasquez (Violin), Spencer Byrd (Viola), Nha-Y Duong (Viola), Jackson Benjamin (Cello), Katelyn Petersen (Cello), Israel MacDonald (Double Bass), Kristen Edwards (Flute), Kendra Hamblin (Flute), Jackson Thomas War (French Horn), Melody Tang (Percussion), and Max Whittaker (Percussion)."
