We believe Games for Windows Live is a very poor choice in Digital Rights Management for Dark Souls. GFWL is unpopular, difficult to use, inconvenient, and can be very annoying for many users. Additionally, GFWL has very unreliable online support, affecting a key feature in Dark Souls. There is no anti-cheat system in GFWL, which will allow many players to hack their game, giving themselves ridiculous stats and weapons at a low Soul Level and invading new players. After anxiously awaiting a PC release for this fantastic game we were very disappointed and angry to hear Dark Souls will use Games for Windows Live.

Although many people would be pleased with a DRM free Dark Souls we realise publishers and developers want to protect their intellectual property. GFWL is a poor choice as it is easily cracked by pirates, and users can find many ways to get around it. As an alternative to GFWL, we reccomend Valve's Steamworks. Steam is much more reliable and accepted among PC gamers than GFWL. Steam could also allow cross-platform play with our friends on the Playstation 3 version of Dark Souls.

Please reconsider the use of GFWL, or offer the game on both services. Thank you for taking the effort to port this game, but for a lot of customers GFWL will be a huge deterrant. We believe Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition will sell much more without GFWL.
